San Francisco Points of Interest
San Francisco is a very lively and eclectic city. Some of San Francisco's points of interest for those of you who are planning to spend some time in or near the city are as follows:
Palance of Fine Arts - Very intersting and quiet little place. Easily missed. Its on the way to crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. There's a nice lake where you can picnic on the grass and just people watch
Lombard Street - if you have a car, its always fun to drive down Lombard Street, the crookedest street in the world.
Chinatown - the largest Chinatown in North America. Great food. Interesting markets.
Alcatraz - A trip to San Francisco would be incomplete without a ferry ride out to the infamous Alcatraz
Ghiradelli Square - The world famous Ghiradelli chocolate shop is here, well worth a visit and stroll around the area. A great stage set up for childrens performances
Fisherman's Wharf - great walking area. Good fresh seafood. Good strolling and shopping area.
Pier 39 - In the Fisherman's Wharf Area. A great outdoor walking pier with shopping and food. The famous sea lions of San Francisco like to call this place home!
UC Berkeley - take a drive over to Berekeley. a well known liberal town. take a tour of the college and walk the streets of this quinetessential college town.
Stanford - take a drive down south for a bit and visit the affluent area of Palo Alto and its famous resident, Stanford University. a gorgeous campus in a gorgeous city.
Monterey Bay Aquarium - take a drive a few hours south of San Francisco and arrive a the seaside town of Monterey. Very pretty and picturesque. The famous Monterey Bay Aquarium is not to be missed!
Carmel - for the golfers, a trip a few hours south of San Francisco to see and play on Pebble Beach and drive along Seventeen Mile Drive is well worth it!
Pac Bell Park - the brand new home to the San Francisco Giants is a thing of beauty. take a daytime tour of the park.
Golden Gate Bridge - no trip to San Francisco is complete without going out to the Golden Gate Bridge and taking some obligatory photographs.
