All of you have great ideas and I have to admit I've never given it much thought. Will now. We always have our flashlights ready and I think in case of this type of emergency sturdy shoes might be helpful. I always carry an inventory of what's in every one of my suitcases in case one is ever lost. I keep that with passports, etc. in safe... It also helps to have the lists handy for the next time I pack to ensure nothing is left behind.

I remembered them as we arrived at the airport (3 hr drive from home) and we printed them once we'd arrived at our destination. Worked a treat.

Sending the tickets to my email is a really good idea, I will definitely put that one on my "to do" list! Thanks

Yonnie, have you considered leaving copies with your lawyer and/or CPA? They will understand your situation and be happy to keep them for you.

It was not something that I had given any thought to, however the basics they mentioned were always in my mind, wear something warm. I alwys know where my jacket is.

As mentioned I usually have copies of all tickets and such in my email, to access from anywhere. Of course safe would be a first stop as well. Luckily for me if I am woken suddenly, I can often switch right into thinking mode without a lot of trouble, especially if there is something that gives the adrenalin a good pump.

Wow, a lot of good advice given here. I had never even thought about an emergency situation, especially at night but after the Concordia sinking, I guess it's a good idea to have a plan. Bob and I already do the scan of passports with a copy in our email plus one of our sons has a copy in case of an emergency. Great topic, LuLu.

Not something I hav ever really given any thought to, even after the false alarm on Queen Victoria in April. I really should be better organised.

For those who don't know the crew alert signal was sounded at a little after. midnight because an alarm had gone off on the bridge to show a fire in the funnel (smoke stack). Thankfully it was a false alarm.

Certainly something to think about before my next cruise. I tend to take a flashlight with me. I like to have a flashlight near me anyway around here because of earthquakes, but at the very least I'll keep my cell phone with me at night, because I can just touch any button and it comes to life with a brief light.

My hubby did use a ziplock bag to keep things together in the cabin's safe, but I think it's a good idea to unlock it at night (once you're inside for the night) so that you don't have to try to remember the combo in the middle of the night. It's a good idea to put the clothes for the next day out so that's something to get us to do. I do remember when our 94 earthquake hit at 4:30am and I was desperately looking for clothes to put on before I went outside -- I knew I couldn't just wear a tee shirt.
