I'm not familiar with the anytime dining, as we have always done traditional late seating. I always like eating later on a cruise. That way I can spend more time in the ports and take a small nap if I need to before dinner.

Miss me everyone?

All I can say is I know people from the smoggy west coast who traveled on Holland often and they love the ships. Here are their "pros"

Smaller Ships, but still nice and large.
No babysitting service = less kids on board.
Service has always been top notch.

Hope that helps at least a little.

Enjoy your trip wish I was going, but I have 53 days until I leave for my Eastern Caribbean adventure.

Welcome to CLF!!

We have sailed quite a few times on the Ryndam - in fact we just did a 23 day cruise on the Ryndam in Nov/Dec. The new As You Wish Dining was in place. We had traditional early - 5:45 which is what we always had.

The AYWD is from 5:15 - 9 on the lower level of the dining room. You can either show up at the door when you are ready to eat or you can call between 8 AM - 4 PM is make a reservation. You will not necessarily sit at the same table with the same people each night. If you are traveling with friends, you might consider calling to make a reservation. On our cruise we got to talking to a few people and they tipped the maitre'd so that they could have the same table and same dinner time each evening. Don't know if this will work on all cruises.

HAL does have a baby sitting service -- you just go to the front desk and make arrangements -- not free.
