    Eagle Class (Voyager) RCCL Ships

We have for the last three years sailed eagle (Voyager) class RCCL ships. Our first venture out was 2 years ago on Navigator of the Seas. Previously we had sail NCL in '83, so we were in for a big surprise. We flew into Miami, we will go via of Fort Lauderdale in the future. We sailed the eastern Caribbean and had a delightful trip. Standing on the bow, running with the wind, listening to only the sound of waves cresting on themselves and no motion, made us fly under the full moon. She was clean, well managed and exciting.

Last year we flew to San Juan and took Adventure of the Seas on a 10 days southern Caribbean trip. Also a well managed ship, clean and very impressive. St. Thomas was a bit crouded, but St Maartin was perfect. Our 2 favorite ports on this trip were Aruba and Curacao. EXtra 3 days made a real difference

This year we sailed on Explorer of the Seas to the Western Caribbean. Not my favorite ports but ship was fine. Wind Jammer at night was a real surprise/ Costa Maya was fun and we lover Cozumel witht eh college break. Coronas at a $1. They just loved Mexico.

We enjoy RCCL and the Promenade in the center is a real treat. Just put me on a ship, I'll go anywhere.

We were on the Voyager in 2003 and LOVED the Promenade...I am soooo excited to go on the Navigator...same set up as the Voyager. This class of ship is great for us with 3 children!

I agree with you and flying into Ft. Lauderdale instead of Miami...we did this before and found it much nicer and easier! I am planning on doing it for our April 2006 trip...now to start the search for airfares...not close enough yet...my first choice is Jet Blue...I lucked out with them for this July going into MCO for our Disney trip...only $128 round trip plus taxes! Great price...when paying for 5 people, gotta look for these great fares!

You'll love Navigator. Nicest ship we have been on so far. Stand on the bow running with the wind. You'll feel like you're flying on the bow of the Titannic, but don't stand on the rail. Only sound is the cresting of the waves.

The balconies on the Navigator and the Mariner are a little bigger than those on the previous Voyager class ships; they figured out a way to make the railings stand out a little further. These ships also have Chops restaurant in addition to Portofino. All sounds very good to me!!!

Sounds great...we can't wait...I have never had two trips planned to be planning for, getting excited for. Although the first trip, Disney, is more like a home away from home, we go so much, lol

I have actually begun some small amounts of shopping for the Navigator in April...cheap rain ponchos (just in case) these are for Disney too. I got a formal dress for the toddler, some casual wear for the 13 yo ds, a folding hamper, little stuff.

We enjoyed Chops Grill 2 years ago. Was worth the added $20 / person but I probably won't do that again. The regular restaurants meet my needs just fine. I do not miss having soft drinks but wouldn't it be just as easy to add the soft drink cost to the cruise ticket price? I mean, will we be having ala cart cruises in the future? I know it is a competitive market but lets not reduce the cruise purchase price and then trap folks into all kinds of hidden expenses once you leave port. RCCL eliminated the alcoholic drink cards this last trip, which did save a little. I mean, you find your favorite pub and the card made it a convenient way to control alcoholic costs with yourself and also other party members. What can I expect on my upcoming Princess cruise?

One thing that has remained constant on our RCCL cruises. The soft serve ice cream or yogart. Light and refreshing with an icy bight, not heavy and coating as Dairy Queen. We love it. That should never change.

    Happy cruising

I enjoy the dining room as well and probably won't be going to Chops...I too wish they still had the alcohol card...it was easier to keep track of what I drank

Adventure only has Portofino, so our first chance to try Chops we be when we are on Serenade this fall. I'm sure we will but am not sure if we will do Portofino again this trip, but that's because we will have 2 ports where we can dine off the ship, and I don't want to spend too many meals away from the main dining room. I know that most people would not dine off the ship, but since both of these ports are known for good restaurants, it's a way to try a foreign restaurant without paying for hotal and airfare.
