I know this must haved been asked before, But here i go .
Is it better to book next trip while on a cruise or do it from home.
We are thinking of the the Oasis, for when it sails not sure as of now which time frame. But we are on the Liberty this January thought if it is better to book while at sea than we would look into which time we would like to go.
If you book a Royal Caribbean cruise while on board one of their ships, you get a little bonus: an On Board Credit for the cruise you are booking. The amount of the credit varies, and starts at $50.00 for a three nighter, going up to $100 for a 7 nighter, and (I believe) $150 for 12 days.
Take your regular Travel Agent's name and phone number with you when you do the booking, and the Loyalty Ambassador will handle transferring the booking to your personal TA for you.
So no real bonus on the price of the cruise but an OBC for that trip which is always good. Thanks i wis i had done that last January but did not know we were going agian this year.

One other note -
If you haven't yet decided on the exact date or ship for your next cruise, you can still book onboard, by basically buying a 'future cruise' credit from the Loyalty Ambassador. These are also transferrable to your own TA, and also earn you an OBC for the future cruise ... you just don't have to specify the exact sailing at that point.
And, when you do decide, the amount you paid for the future cruise credit will automatically be applied towards the cruise you end up choosing.
Now that is even better news. We are thinking the Oasis but as of now it only will be doing 3 ports of call i think. and i like more So that being said your idea is better for our plans......................i like it !!!!

Booking your next cruise while on your current cruise is always recommended - you get a reduced deposit and onboard credit - can't beat that!
Since the Oasis of the Seas has not even hit the water yet, you're not going to see any specials for quite some time. Bookings are selling quickly, so it'll be a while before you see discounts. Best thing is to book as soon as possible as you're likely to see the prices go up. So don't hesitate to book while on your cruise in January. Remember, you can get a 100% refund if cancelled prior to final payment date. As for the least expensive time to book, that would be September; it's the least expensive time because everyone is going back to school and it's in the middle of hurricane season.
But as she mentioned, you can book a Future Cruise Credit and not have it associated with any particular sailing - this way you get to take avantage of the reduced deposit and the onboard credit.

We can only travel ,,,, i should say only like to travel when the weather sucks at home in the winter ( and today ) So that means January to March . So i will prebook when we are on the Liberty in January Even if we don't do the Oasis there is still so many other options
Thanks to all

In the January - March timeframe, the 3rd - 4th week in January is your best bet.
If you can go right before Thanksgiving or between Thanksgiving & Christmas you can get some better rates - everyone wants to travel during the holidays, but no one wants to travel right before or right after.
Because of this, the first week in January use to offer really good rates, but more and more families are keeping their kids out of school for an extra week to take advantage of the cheaper rates, so the rates that week have crept up lately.

That is the time for our Liberty trip January 23, also going to DR to a resort the first week of March. For a year that we said we wold not be going anywhere. We went a little overboard....pardon the pun.
I will keep the dates you mentioned in mind when we think about pre booking from the ship.
Thanks agian Pete
