Steak fee in the dining room? Really?

Anyone ever run into this on a Royal Caribbean ship? Charging extra for "special" steak in the regular (no charge) dining room? Seriously?

Please do check out the above.

From what I understand ... the $14.95 steak is an option ... but, it is still possible to order steak in the dining room ....

The last time we had steak on the RCCL regular dining menu, it made us decide to only eat steak in their speciality restruants!

I think that is their plan! The steaks on the anytime menu are not very thick and not very tender! It's hard to cook one of them rare.

Unfortunately, the steaks in the regular Celebrity dining rooms seem to be going the same way.

As I have said before. I dont like the direction of charging for better food in the dining room but I would prefer to pay for a proper tasty steak then having to make an emergency visit to the dentist.
Steaks are good but they are just that, steaks. No big deal, for me at least.

But as much attention the RC steaks has gotten lately I would think they are all really tender by now

The link I originally posted said it was very special steak. The regular stuff was still free. Somebody over at Royal Caribbean has been taking too many cues from the airlines. They need to stop it.

This was posted by Lars on the link provided earlier:

The steak in question is an all organic 10oz cut.

It being tested to see if there is any interest among the RC guests for paying a little more for the option of an organically raised cut of beef.

The seven-ounce Black Angus sirloin is still offered every night of the cruise, free of charge, on the "always available menu".

Why the steak is called Chops steak no one knows. The steak is not offered in Chops restaurant no does Chops serve organic meat and it isnt prepeared by Chops chefs or in the Chops galley.

Why the steak is offered in the Dining room and not in Chops is because RC wanted as much feedback as possible.
