What should we do this time in Roatan?

We really like Roatan and are happy to have another port stop there.

Lots we like ... but we'll have to pick only one.

This time in Roatan, which one of these do you think we should do? Your opinions and thoughts will be appreciated.

Which excursion has the most free booze? That's the one I will vote for.

No question in my mind - we'd go to the beach on the West End and do some snorkeling. Best snorkeling we've ever seen anywhere! I've been a scuba diver for over 15 years with over 150 dives and this is as close as a snorkeler can get to scuba diving.

Plus, the beer was cheap and cold!!!

Pete .... Which beach on West End do you like best? Are you doing this (diving/snorkeling) directly off the beach or going out in a dive/snorkel boat?

It would have to be West Bay Beach. The coral reef is literally right near the surface - in fact there are areas that you cannot snorkel over the reef - you have to snorkel around it.

There are several scuba diving operations there where you can rent equipment if you don't have any and snorkel right off the beach. The beach itself is wonderful soft white sand and the water is crystal clear.

While you can get someone to rent you there boat and go out to some other less crowded areas, which is really nice, you don't have to if you don't want to spend the extra money.

Overall, a magnificent day at the beach.

I would hire Victor and his guys will take you to all the things you want to see. I love West End myself, and think Mahogany Bay is fine if you just want to swim. The shops are about double in price, so dont shop there.

I want to make school kids backpacks to drop off at the orphanage, Iv been to the ignuanna farm twice, the highlight of my trip was the time we spent at Victor's home because I wanted to hold the monkeys .. dont forget to have them stop by a grocery store and stock up on good coffee .. so many things to do. I cant imagine having to just choose one thing.

why limit yourself to one thing?? I assume you are on Carnival since they port at Mahagany Bay?

No, not Carnival. We're on Crown Princess. Princess docks at Mahogany Bay too.

We will only pick ONE because it will be some sort of beach/water activity which takes up our entire day.

Confused on the orhangage? I thought we weren't welcomed there any longer.

Lu, not sure on the orphanage anymore. It's gone through major changes with management. When we went, it was lovely. I've heard it's not so great anymore and have also heard there were some shenanigans going on.
