    Roatan, Honduras

I was at this beautiful spot in Jan. and I can only say WOW! Probably one of the most natural and untouched places I have ever been.

The people were very kind, and the shops were very cheap. If I could do another destination again I would go here, but I would love to spend more time there.

We were in Roatan last November. We did the Dolphin Encounter. When the ship docked I had my doubts about liking it. As we made our way out of the port area it just became more and more beautiful. You are right, the people are great.

The Dolphin Encounter was something we had wanted to do for quite awhile. Where they had it was in a remote resort area that you wouldn't notice from the road. Once there, we tendered over to the dolphin area and just loved the "up close and personal" with Marty (our dolphin). There is a museum in the resort and also a marine school.

Upon returning to the pier, we did some local shopping and met a few natives that couldn't have been nicer. It is a third world country and very poor. I would love to go back as I prefer the remote ports to the more congested tourist spots.

Roatan, oh Roatan! and -Oh, Rex... Thank you for adding this one!

I just returned from my second time there... booked the cruise pretty much last minute for the single reason that it was going to Roatan!

    You DO know, don't you? - - -
You are about to get something started here....
There are a few of us for whom Roatan is a VERY special place.
Once we get started, we WON'T stop talking about that little orphanage there!

LOL We knew the second the invite went out!!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

May I suggest, when you decide to start your thread, to include at the top a synopsis of all that it is you do, and how it is accomplished, so you won't be getting hundreds of questions. That way we know what is needed and how any of us can help. It would be appreciated!!
