Thread: Mahogany Bay ... Have you been there?

Has anyone actually been to Mahogany Bay?

On a Thanksgiving cruise last year the opening was delayed so we didn't dock there as planned. Thinking of doing the same itinerary this year.

Would love to hear from someone who has been there!

We have a cruise next year with a port stop in Roatan. Would very much appreciate a reply from someone who has actually been to Mahogany Bay.

was just there lulu its a nice little port area i didnt spend much time there just walked threw to get to my tour and walked back with a quick stop in fat tuesdays

Did you take the "Lift" and go to the beach at Mahogany Bay?

Mahogany Bay is a nice beach day. Much like a day at a cruise line's private island, except you can take tours on Roatan from this stop. I've been to Roatan before and enjoyed tours from the dock in town, so we just enjoyed our "beach day" at Mahogany Bay when we were there last year. You can either walk or take the chair lift to the beach. There are shops and such if you don't want to do a tour and aren't interested in the beach. Hurricane Hole was where we spent our time. Great beach bar.

Question for you please on the "Chair Lift":

The details say passengers should have suffient mobillity to exit the ride on loose sand ....

The loose sand would not be a problem if it comes to a complete stop.
