I have mixed feelings about returning there. I LOVED the first three times... everything about it... so special . . .

But to go again, knowing I was so close to the kids, but couldn't see them... not sure I could handle that.

    Guess I'll get over it, eventually . . .

Time is a great healer! Roatan is not going away .... also, things could change again with seeing the children ....

.... Just now, for you it might be a good time to go to some of the islands in the Southern Caribbean you've been wanting to visit and snorkel. You'd really enjoy the ABC islands -- Aruba, Bonaire, & Curacao! Also, you want to do that Champagne snorkel in Grenada!

You are absolutely right, Lulu! And, you even remembered that the Grenada Champagne Snorkel is on my list - how thoughtful.... and what a memory!

For now, I have a CLF Group Cruise on the near horizon, and farewell cruises on the Sovereign of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas after that. As you know, both of those ships will be leaving Port Canaveral, so it's time to say goodbye... it's gonna be especially hard to see the Sovereign go - we lover her so - but all good things must come to an end.

Once out of Coxen hole and on your way to West End, West Bay, or Sandy Bay is usually how it goes but hold on to your hats because some of the developments about to happen in Roatan is some of the most inspiring, environmentally centered projects to ever be thought of by man. Many of these projects including Blue Ocean Reef (Nikki Beach) and Mystic Harbour(Westin) provide for wildlife refuges and/or habitats on the premises to help preserve some of the beautiful aspects of Roatan that may otherwise be overlooked. Also the best part is that the rest of the island will benefit from this development by getting things like energy and roads in the East End!! While some conservationists find ANY sort of development worse than responsible development, I have spoken to some homeowners in the east side and the progress is quite welcome. Let's all hope that since Roatan's emergence comes late in history, that they benefit from newer, more responsible methods of island development. I never went there on a cruise since I always went Eastern Caribbean, but have travelled there a lot on my own. It is truly one of the greatest spots in the Caribbean.
