Roatan, Honduras
On our first visit to Roatan, we took the ship's "Discover Roatan Island Tour" through RCL. This was really enjoyable, even for my DH, who is in his 70's and not at all into 'challenging' excursions. It does involve climbing into a small boat, but the guides are very helpful for those who need it. This was only a small portion of the tour.

This tour had varied activities - opportunity to shop, see the countryside, take pictures, a folk dance performance,, a short ride in the bay, and our guide was most informative, answering many, many questions!

Experience Roatan's undeveloped East End. Board an island style boat for this pleasant, narrated trip through the historic 2-mile long Dixon Cove Harbour with its keys, reefs, and visible shipwrecks. There are many photographic points on the journey. After this boat ride you begin a scenic countryside drive to Marble Hill Farm to sample delicious jellies and jams made from hibiscus, island plum, mangos and hot peppers. Then it's on to YUBU - The Garifuna Experience, where you will witness a performance by the local Garifuna dancers and browse through the unique artisan souvenir shops.

This is a good tour for those who want to get a 'flavor' of the island of Roatan. Our giude was MOST informative, and very straightforward about answerig questions.
