Wonderful pictures... Yes, I had seen them before, but had to go look at them again just now.
ZY, makes me ewant to go back, and snorkel Tabyana. And YOU should go back and snorkel Half Moon Bay. It's good, too ... and WAY less crowded.

OK- a quick question for those who've been to Tabyana Beach. How close is it to the cruise terminal? Am I able to get to the beach area with out going through the ship or is it better to go through the ship??

    Thanks for the help!

You can only go to Tabyana Beach and use their facilities with a ship tour.

You can go to West Bay (Tabayana is part of) and walk up and down the Tabyana Beach area and snorkel the same areas, just not use their beach chairs and other facilities.

West Bay/Tabyana isn't particularly close to the cruise terminal but became a lot easier to get to once they paved the road.

If you go on your own make sure to arrange round trip transportation - not many taxis troll around the area.

You can just rent a taxi to take you to West Bay and hang out and watch your stuff while you snorkel or whatever. I think I paid $30 for a few hours taxi rental and he also include a drive by tour of West End and driving down a road where rich folks live. Quite the contrast.

Many of the taxi drivers only speak Spanish with perhaps some broken English thrown in but they'll try if you will.

Thanks for your answer! I appreciate it. I think the kids and DH are going to be ziplining here and I'm hanging out for the day.

I've done both. If you take a cab, make sure they stay the whole time. Taxis aren't usually trolling the area looking for customers.

Thank you. Those are from a few years ago - I had to check.

At the time I was using a Canon S1-IS with the optional waterproof case. Unfortunately I don't think Canon makes anything equivalent these days.
