My TA always insists on regular DOCs being mailed.

HOWEVER, there are times when I need to get a few extras at the pier, too, and that's never been a problem.

I'll be getting extras for the Rhapsody out of Galveston in early May, even if we do get the DOCs in the mail with the normal six, which won't be nearly enough.

As someone already said - DO be sure to take along a marker or two for your pier tags. The porter MAY fill them all out, but if you are like us, and have a lot of bags, it's quicker if more than one person is working on that little project.

I thought that I had heard that even with E-docs they would mail you luggage tags. I evidently was mistaken.

For my May trip I have E-docs for the first time. In them is a picture of what the luggage tags look like and instruction on how to fill them out at the pier. We are instructed to put the following information on the tags.

    Sailing date
    Name
    Stateroom number
    Quadrant/Sextant
    2 letter ship code

I will have a sharpie with me in case the porters are not filling them out.

I am a little dissapointed in this proceedure but I will reserve judgement until after I have tried it.

I agree - I would have still preferred for someone to send me luggage tags - apparently, some did get tags, presumably from those who did not supply an e-mail address. Our little complication was that the upgrade fairy visited us after the issue of the eDocs, so the information in the eDocs in terms of Quadrant was wrong, and I had no idea what the new quadrant was. It ended up being easy/no issue - I put our name and the stateroom number on the tags, and those tags already had the ship code on them. Although I still would have preferred to be able to take care of all these little nit-picky details at home, it really wasn't an issue at all. The boarding process in general was very smooth - we were on the ship within 20 minutes from being dropped off.

I'm curious about the upgrade fairy...how did that happen, what happened, who caused it? Please share your good news.

Here's the thread where I asked about it. . .

One minute, I was booked into the room we chose, the next, we were three decks up in a balcony room. I am now spoiled rotten and probably won't be going back to oceanview rooms (and you know they KNEW that would happen, LOL).

hey will have their work cut out for them when we sail the Rhapsody next month.

We got six tags in with out cruise docs, but will have to get (an estimated) 8-10 more at the pier.
