DH was looking at a cruise on Regent.
Sorry to bother, but what is their evening dress code?
Thank you

On formal nights it's sort of varied. You might see a few Academy Award type gowns...but not that many. A few guys wear tuxedos, but most of them wear dark suits. For ladies you see mostly outfits like the classic little black dress with pearls and maybe strappy sandals. It's formal all right, but more of a low-key sophisticated understated formal with a little less 'bling bling' than I have seen on other cruselines formal nights. But to be honest, it's a very tolerant atmosphere, so as long as it looks nice you will be fine. It's not a white glove and 'grey poupon' atmosphere at all.
Semi formal on Regent just means one notch down from formal. I usually wear a short glittery cocktail dress with heels. Or sometimes a nice pantsuit.
Casual means country club casual, whatever you might wear out to a restaurant at home. I usually wear dressy slacks and a pretty sweater...flat shoes...that sort of thing. DH wears Dockers and a Hawaiian shirt a good deal of the time on casual nights.

Thanks for the information.

DH does have a tuxedo but should we ever decide to go on Regent I think for once he can leave it at home -- he has lots of suits.
I gave up the long formal gowns a long time ago -- have 2 lengths of black skirts and lots of fancy tops.

It really depends on which itinerary you are on with Regent. I have been on cruises where there are probably 70% tuxedos and wearing a Hawaiian shirt to dinner would be frowned upon (obviously not Caribbean cruises). Some itineraries do not have formal nights. If you check the RSSC website you can see which they are.
I am sure it has happened, but I have never been on a Regent cruise where the majority of men were in Tuxedos. There are always a few guys here and there wearing a tux...but it was always a sprinking and never the majority. Most of the men I saw every time we cruised Regent were looking very handsome in their black suits.

While I was working on a project in the school office today, we were talking about what we're doing on winter break. I mentioned that last year I was on a cruise at this time and suggested that the assistant principal (single and looks like the actor Andy Richter) should go on a cruise and meet some women. We were talking about formal wear and I told him I saw men in kilts on formal night last year. He said he has worn kilts (he has a Scottish bg). Another woman asked what he wears underneath.
