    Regent Passport Notice

The following is now posted on the Regent Cruises website. Interestingly, it is in RED there.

Important Travel NoticePASSPORT ADVISORY: As part of the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 (IRTPA), effective January 8, 2007 all travelers, including U.S. citizens, traveling to or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda will be required to have a passport to enter or re-enter the United States. Please obtain or renew your passports early.

For details of this initiative visit the U.S. State Department's New Requirements for Travelers page.

For information on obtaining or renewing a passport, visit the State Department web site Passports page.

    My comment:
This porposed regulation has had several passport deadline changes ...
anyone ho does not have one would be wise to just go ahead and get one.
There's always the possibility that individual cruise lines will become frustrated, and set a safe deadline on their own for their passengers.

Royal Caribbean is saying the same, yet this is on the State Dept web site!! New Requirements for Travelers

This is going to cause mass confusion for cruise passengers, and I hope this is all made public soon, many cruisers do not have computers!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Sue, if the Gov't would update their website in a timely manner, it wouldn't be confusing. The President has already signed off on the new deadline of June 1st, 2009, for US citizens re-entering the US by sea, but the State Dept hasn't updated this info. God knows what they are waiting for.

I agree Ken, it is a mess. Cruisers will show up at the pier on these two lines with no passports, yet the US says we don't need them, there is only two and a half months for these two lines to be sure the passengers have them, and yet will passengers from the US believe they really do!!
