Hmmm not too bad but then the length of a cruise with hotels in South America would probably be a more expensive itinerary than the one you have quoted. Seeing as South America is one of the more expensive itineraries across the cruise industry anyway and the higher classed lines would automatically pass that cost onto its customers.

I would imagine, from previous experience, that there may be a class distinction amongst the passengers tween those in the megabucks cabins and those in the cheapseats. That is inevitable that there will be the 'I have money and I am going to rub it in' and those who were able to have a 'one-off, saved up like mad for the cruise' types of passengers.

Oh good god NO! There is nothing like that on any Radisson cruise I have ever been on. I promise you, the atmosphere is nothing like that. Everybody is super casual and friendly, and nobody gives the slightest care as to who has what or what their bank account is...or what cabin they are staying in. This is not a 'Grey Poupon' sort of cruiseline...people aren't walking around in white gloves and diamonds, looking down their noses or talking about their private jets. I have never seen anybody act the least bit snobby on any Radisson cruise I have been on. You would never know if the guy in jeans next to you is a multimillionaire or if the lady in the fancy gown bought it at a thrift store. Nobody asks, nobody cares. They are all there to enjoy the cruise!

That solo savings is almost worth cruising alone!!

My Signature Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Past Cruises Most people walk into and out of your life . . . but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart

I have looked at an almost identical itinerary, including hotels of similar standard and flights etc to what I have just done. The cheapest option works out at over $22000....which is about $11000 more expensive than I paid.

OK there is a class distinction tween NCL and Radisson but thats about it really. So I think I shall be sticking to NCL as it suits my needs and budget. Lines like Radisson are fine, I have no argument with anyone who prefers them to a mainline cruise company. But the way I look at it, I saw just as much on a 34000 tonne NCL Crown as anyone would on Seven Seas Mariner, the food was exceptionally good, the service was better than expected and the bed in the cabin was comfy and the ship was clean and tidy.

We broke a world record on the Crown last week by being the largest ever ship to anchor in the inner harbour at Port Stanley with just 4ft of water under the keel, we went within 50ft of glaciers, we went up uncharted fjords, circumnavigated Cape Horn twice and visited the same ports as Radisson does.

So Radisson is fine, but at the costs involved, not my cup of tea, sorry.
