Does anyone have info about Radisson?

I found a repositioning cruise from Alaska to Tokyo that my DH is VERY interested in done by Radisson.

How formal is this line? What kind of activities are on board? If I am comfortable on Royal Caribbean, how comfortable will this cruise be? (Other than my needing LOTS of warm clothing!)

Radisson is tops in service and food and very comparable to Silversea and Seabourn. While upscale it is not totally all inclusive like SS and SB. Tips, wine with dinner, soft drinks and water throughout the ship, and a fully stocked bar in your room are included. However, other drinks throughout the ship are not.

This ship is the Mariner, which is 50,000 tons, but only has a maximum of 700 passengers. There are one crew member for each 1.6 passengers onboard.

We will be doing Alaska on the Mariner next year with several of our friends. The attire for Alaska is much more relaxed. No formal nights at all. Mostly casual, with a couple of informal nights, meaning sport coats for the guys.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Don, and congrats on on your Casual Cruiser status. I will let my husband know what you said, and I may have more questions before long. Since we probably won't book this for the next 2 years, I'll be very interested in your comments for your Alaska cruise.

I was looking for repositioning cruises, and saw this. I usually use vacationstogo.com to look for cruises and smartcruiser.com to check availability. Then I go to the cruiselines own websites to see what they say about rooms, deck plans, excursions, etc. And then I come here!

No, CM, Roatan is not on the itinerary for that cruise. At least not yet.

I'm just waiting for an inexpensive cruise out of Houston to pop up, and then I'll be on my way!

We are planning to go on Avalon's MS Artistry. Of all the cruises we looked at, it had most of what my husband was looking for. AND it has BIG sliding glass doors onto balconies that look pretty good.

Here's the info for this year's version:

We're hoping prices and schedules for next year will be out before long.
