I know this is an old thread, but I just noticed it. Did you go on your Radisson cruise yet? We mostly sail Radisson, so I can tell you a lot about it if you still have questions. I read up on it before our first Radisson cruise, but you can't get the feel of the ship (or food, or excursions, or service) by reading articles. It was way, way better than even their glowing articles suggested. We're hooked!
No, we go next summer to Alaska on the Mariner. We will be on the Silver Whisper in November with some people that have been on RSSC several times, so we hope to find out how it compares.

Here is part of a Radisson review you might find interesting!
Radisson Seven Seas has targeted the top of the luxury market and they are dead on-target. To gain a foothold in this established market Radisson introduced the first all-suite and all-balcony cabin ship called the Seven Seas Mariner in 2001. The Seven Seas Mariner and Voyager are the same size as Crystal Harmony/Symphony but hold 300 fewer guests. Radisson has open seating for dining, includes gratuities and more in the cruise fare plus they cost less than Crystal so they are the best value by far in the luxury market. In 2003 Radisson introduced the Seven Seas Voyager an improved version of the Mariner with 50 square feet larger cabins so the minimum increased to 351 square feet and again all cabins have private balconies. The Navigator and Paul Gauguin are great smaller ships holding only 490 and 300 guests, respectively, that also very worthwhile considering. Paul Gauguin cruises out of Tahiti year round and is the class of that market. One of the reason Radisson is such a good value is that their cabin prices are lower AND their price includes gratuities, wine with meals, complimentary bottled water and soft drinks and a complimentary bar set-up upon embarkation. The food is excellent (only surpassed by Silversea) and the service is outstanding - better than Crystal or Silversea. The high-end readers of Conde Nast Traveler who seek the best hotel, cruise and travel options worldwide have picked Radisson as the "World's Best Small-Ship Cruise Line" for 2003 (small means less than 1000 passengers). As you can see in the ratings below Ethel Blum author of the "Total Traveler Guide to Worldwide Cruising" also agrees with Conde Nast readers and us.

TxHL, this is something that we are looking at down the road. And as Jim pointed out, it's the repositioning cruise from Alaska to Japan. If it wasn't for the fact that this would be an opportunity to try Radisson, I would NOT be happy about cruising in COLD weather!
And Sue, one of the reasons this is a "down the road" cruise is the price. Because it is a repositioning cruise in some God-forsaken places (that my husband REALLY wants to see ), I've seen deals where the price in cut in half to fill the ship, and they even added a cooking school program on this year's trip. But even then, there are just other places we want to go first. Thank goodness.
Thanks for all your info about Radisson. It does make this trip sound much better.

I just booked the Paul Gauguin for December 28th. I've been on Radisson once before, on the Diamond, and LOVED it. I'm glad I had a chance to go on the Diamond before it left Radissson's fleet. It was a cool ship. I'd be happy to answer anything I can about Radisson if you have any specific questions.
