Paul Gauguin expands Cousteau kids’ program
Children sailing on the Paul Gauguin in Tahiti this summer and, for the first time, during Christmas and New Year’s cruises, can learn about the cultural and natural wonders of French Polynesia with Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society.
The ship’s ‘Ambassadors of the Environment’ program offers activities designed to educate through experience, including excursions to vanilla and black pearl farms, participation in a turtle rescue, snorkeling at dive sites, a hike with archaeologist Mark Eddowes and paddling with a local children’s outrigger canoe club.
Open to kids ages 9-15, the program will be offered on nine voyages, June 10 to Aug. 23, and, for the first time, on two holiday sailings, Dec. 20 and 29.
