Where did you hear this Lulu?, I'm not seeing anything on the Princess site, or any news site for that matter. I recall seeing her (Regal) here in Ft. Lauderdale on April 7th 2006, together with the Sun Princess.
Heather, according to the site you gave the link to, the ship was freed 1.5 hrs after being stuck on a sandbar, using it's bow thrusters and emptying the pools etc. For me, anyway, thats an update. Thank you for providing this link.

Actually, how I heard was rather FUNNY! I was checking CLF when my friend called who was reading an email from me on a party we're planning ....
While we were talking, she got an email from her very old aunt who is on Regal Princess doing an Amazon cruise. Her Aunt Ruth emails: "Since our ship has been stuck on a sandbar for over an hour, taking the time to email you now to let you know we are having a great cruise."
We had to laugh! Rather like one of our children calling from camp saying it was fun ... and to not worry about his broken leg!

You're Welcomed LuLu, Yes I would have laughed too. Imagine being stuck on a sandbar, and aunty is saying we're having a great cruise, what a great attitude. Your analogy is accurate, never mind mom, just a broken leg, we're having fun.
I guess the ships hull is fine or not badly damaged.
How interesting! Somehow you just don't think of a cruise ship being stuck on a sand bar, It is rather funny!! Glad to hear they got it going again, with apparently no damage.
