My grandparents and I are looking at a Caribbean cruise out of Fort Lauderdale, and are considering RCCL for the cruise line. We would like a cruise over the summer holidays.
Any idea on ships, or rates? Your help would be great.

It really depends on when during the Summer do you want to go, how long, what type of cabin, etc. I would also not discount Miami or Port Canaveral as departure ports.
It would be alot easier for you to talk to a reputable travel agent and let them help you with all the details and discuss the many options available to you.

We're looking at Fort Lauderdale, so that gives Freedom of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas.
There's also not a lot of summer cruises, so we've switched to March and try that.
Both of those ships would be great cruises, but you will find that the prices for the Oasis will be higher. The Oasis is the newer of the two ships. I don't know your cruising history or budget, but I really don't think that you can go wrong with either. My kids love Royal Caribbean. They don't want to sail on anyone else.
I have to agree with Pete, consult an agent. They will help you make the best decision.

You certainly can't go wrong with the freedom class ships or the new Oasis but the Oasis prices are on the quite high side compared to any other ship doing the same itinerary. Not knowing the experience you are looking for - the Oasis may be it. Either one of these is great but definitely consult a travel professional. They can help you decide rather than have you knock your head against the wall doing the research. We know where to find what we're looking for and once we talk with you we know what to look for.

I'll tell my grandparents to try another agent.
I've asked my grandma about Oasis of the Seas. She's going to call me later about it.
We are now looking into Carnival's Sensation. Read the story here: http://www.cruiselinefans.com/carnival-ships/43399-carnival-sensation.html
