Kind of have to look at an angle, balcony cabins on right, below looks like a brick area with loungers, pool, and loungers on the left with grassy areas, also may be covered with a dome.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
I know the size of Genesis reminds me of the Project Phoenix that the Norwegian Knut Kloster worked on for a long time.
You can read about the project here:
Phoenix - the largest passenger ship ever to be built (if it had been built)

Looks like the cruiselines are heading towards a ship like that. Thought I have to say that the Princess Kaguya is mabe taking it a bit to far for my cruising tast but it will be very interesting to see if the ship get build or not. 450 000 tons, 8400 passengers!!!!!
I remember Project Phoenix back in the 80's.
It was way ahead of its time but is was actually a little smaller than Geneses.
The vision was there.

According to info I received whilst on a cruise recently, ships can be built to almost any size. It's not the ships which are the problem, its the number of passengers and how to manage them. Imagine trying to tender 10,000 passengers with just lifeboat-size tenders?
Perhaps they should be ro-ro ships (roll-on roll-off) but instead of cars coming down the aft ramp, large ferry boats would be stored inside the ship and just rolled out for tendering.
The other problem is the immigration and customs handling of so many passengers and of course the baggage problems, not to mention special docks. I have a headache just thinking about it!! The hotel operation would probably not cause too much of a problem.
In fact, with such large ships, it is not inconceivable that we will return to the days of first and second class - and maybe third class!! Now that IS a controversial subject!!
