Radiance Of the Seas New Dining Packages

Want to try multiple alternative venues on Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas? Now, you can do it for less! RCL is introducing dining packages that you can choose to purchase. If you buy one of the packages, you get to dine in several alternative dining venues for less than the total cost would be if you bought those same venues individually.

The following are the new dining packages that are being introduced on Radiance of the Seas.

    Radiance Dining Package
    Cost: $70 per passenger
Includes: Chops Grille, Giovanni's Table, Izumi and Samba Grill

    Chef's Dining Package
    Cost: $120 per person
Includes: Chops Grille, Giovanni's Table, Izumi and Samba Grill, plus The Chef's Table

Does this mean you have to go to the different venues? Or can you choose just one and go the allotted times?

I think you just buy the package, and then you get your reservations for each one maybe?

I do believe it is one time at each location. That would make sense since they are different prices.

Just returned from our "extended" stay aboard Radiance and we did purchase the 4 restaurant dining package during our first cruise. It was $70pp and we got to eat at Chops, Izumi, Giovanni's and Samba Grill. For us it was an opportunity to try three of the new dining venues added during dry dock. The cost breaks out at $17.50pp at each of the restaurants when purchasing the package. When making reservations, even though it is in the system that you have purchased a package.........it's always a good idea to remind them when you first arrive.

You can sign up at either the MTD desk on Deck 5 or at one of the tables set up outside the WJ the first few days of the cruise. where a waiter from one of the venues will be stationed to sign you up.

Chops was, as usual, great. If you like Japanese food, other than sushi, you will enjoy Izumi. Samba Grill was wonderful, just don't eat anything after breakfast. Giovanni's was OK, but we really missed some of the entrees that were offered at Portofino. I especially missed the Seafood Skewer.

Our most favorite newly added restaurant was Rita's. It was casual and the food was great and very inexpensive for the amount of food you got.

The Samba Grill is RCI's equivalent to a Brazilian Steak House or what the South American's call a Churrascaria. Each table has a small Lucite Light Box that has three colors that you must activate during dinner. Green means I want the next selection of meat (or more of what I previously had).....Red for when you are eating and you want to finish what you are eating...........White for when you are done with dinner and want dessert.

They start you off with the salad and soup bar and they tell you "not" to over indulge which is rather difficult since everything is freshly prepared. The soup was a black bean soup with bacon and sausage which is a traditional Brazilian soup and was absolutely to die for. They also had a large shrimp bowl with huge shrimp in it.

Then they bring out the different meats that are all cooked on skewers. Of course, on the ship, it's infra red and not open flame. We had chicken breast wrapped in bacon, sausage, lamb, boneless ribs (those were served off a plate), a sirloin steak plus a skirt steak and then the last is the filet. I don't know if the selections of meat change per cruise.

They do bring to the table, served family style, potatoes, grilled vegetables, fried plantains and freshly made bread rolls.

The only drawback to Samba Grill, and they are well aware of it, is that because it is located where the SeaView Cafe was, getting there on days when it is very windy or rainy is a problem since there is no covered walkway. You either use the back stairs off the aft portion of the WJ or you go up to Deck 12 past Adventure Ocean and then out the doors. Either way, you are exposed to the elements for a short period of time. When we had our reservation, it was very cold and windy outside, so they called us and told us that they would meet us outside of Rita's and then take us up the service elevator. Felt like part of the crew!!

I think the dining packages are an awesome deal! Wished they would have had them when we were on Oasis in May. Loved all the new dining venues!
