Congratulations, Debbie! Cruises are the perfect way to celebrate those very special occasions. Everyone gets pampered, even the wife.

Hope some of our folks will be sailing with you.

Me Too!!! Last time I had no takers but I enjoyed reading the other threads on CLF for those sailing the week after and two weeks after. Everyone made me feel welcome. I Love this Forum.

Birthdays and Anniversaries, how exciting! Thanks for joining in!! For my last cruise I joined into Millie's Mom(Mary's) thread. They were leaving on the Mariner OTS two weeks after me. I love to cruise and this is our first 10 day. In the past all have been 7 days.

We took our first 11 night in Dec. to the PanamaCanal on Jewel; we LOVED it!! That's one of the reasons we are doing the 4-12. Looked specifically for length of cruise. Our 40th anniversary is in 2011 and we are talking about a transatlantic. But, I get ahead of myself!

We have never been to the MR, have you?

This will be out 7th cruise to MR. After our last cruise my DH said no more. He wants to visit Alaska and I was looking at the Golden for August. When I came across this deal I decided to sell him on the ship not the route. This ship is so beautiful. Lots of dark woods and windows in most of the public rooms. Well he was sold. This past spring break we were on the Mariner OTS. We'd never been on a ship that large. Being that it had only sail two months at that time our of San Pedro there were some really good deals and the ship was sold out. Sold out with about 1800 kids. We have cruised many time over Spring Break as my DH is a teacher. But nothing ever like this. By Wednesday I'd say the kids were bored and it showed. For our final two sea days it was too cold for pool activities so the kids just seemed to take over the interior spaces. It was a madhouse and it was best if you just stayed in your cabin. I'd also say those late two sea days have very few activities so reading was your best bet. I've heard so many positive comments around the Radiance class of ships. To many they are a favorite so it's time to check it out.

We've been on the Jewel of the Seas (sister of Radiance) twice now. We fell in love with that type ship! All the glass; it's wonderful. We got an AFT for the first time for the PC and now that is our first choice. Previously we had been staying on the hump. The back of the Windjammer is open with tables and chairs. We try to eat out there as much as we can. The solarium pool is enclosed so it doesn't matter if it's cool outside. You just have to get there early as it fills up with inclement weather. No children allowed. I think they let 16 and older in the pool and hot tubs. The Schooner Bar has full length windows and the overflow lounge also had full length windows. The elevators are glass and face out so you see the ocean. It's awesome.

Sorry you had so many children on the Mariner. The Mariner was our first cruise and holds a special place in our hearts. I was a little worried about going to the MR during Spring Break but don't think too many kids will take an 11 night cruise. Hoping so, anyway!

I don't believe there will be two many children for either the 10 or the 11 nights. Someone we cruised with on the Mariner has booked the cruise as well and she's a bit concerned because she has two children and they will miss two days. So I think you are correct, not too many kids this time. My Sister is joining us on this cruse with her DD who is 7. At seven she is so charming I just love having her around.
