Some pictures from Chichen Itza - September, 2010

Pronounced Chichen EatsHa, not Chicken Pizza or other variation. This was on a Carnival Cruise tour:

Zy, nice pictures. It sounds like you feel the same way we do about the numerous vendors outside the ruins. I think it is the same way around all the tourist attractions. Ah, commercialization........

Thank you. I don't remember many, if there were any, vendors at Uxmal and prefer that site, with or without vendors, but hadn't been to Chichen Itza in decades. Last time I could climb all over, but no more climbing the ruins (legally). At Uxmal, there were still some ruins people were allowed on, unless they were being renovated.

Having said that - Chichen Itza is a larger site and I didn't get a chance to visit all of it, so maybe one more visit at some point in the future.

We are going to have to check it out on our next adventure down there. We went to Tulun last time. Fascinating place. It is unfortunate the amount of decay just in the last 50 years.
