What's Onboard Princess Ships part 1

    PRINCESS PATTER
Princess Patter is your daily schedule of ship activities and entertainment events. It's also your guide to shipboard services with hours of operation. Princess Patter is delivered nightly to your stateroom. Keep it close at hand, so you'll always know what's happening and where.

    INTERNET SERVICES*
Internet access is available on all Princess vessels through our 24-hour onboard Internet Cafés and wireless network. Use our state-of-the-art computer systems to access your web-based e-mail account, or browse the Internet for world news, sports and stock trading. Or bring your wireless-enabled laptop and access the Internet from the comfort of our beautiful Purser's Lobby/Atrium and the surrounding lounges and bars. If your laptop is already equipped, wireless network cards are available for purchase onboard.

Passengers who subscribe to e-mail services from an Internet Service Provider (ISP) are advised to verify that their ISP has a web-mail viewing site prior to sailing. Most major ISPs have websites that allow mail access via a web browser using an e-mail address and password.

Please contact the Passenger Services/Purser's Desk onboard for information regarding the charges that apply to Internet and wireless services and any other specific requirements.

    * Ship Internet access is not guaranteed at all times due to the nature of satellite communications, which are subject to itinerary and possible disruption from weather patterns and various obstructions. Also, Internet access via satellite is significantly slower than high-speed connections on shore.

    TOUR OFFICE
A Tour Office with a Shore Excursion Manager is onboard each ship, ready to assist you with your port and tour-related questions and purchases.

    PRINCESS CAPTAIN'S CIRCLE® HOST
Each sailing includes a Princess Captain's Circle Host to assist with exclusive "Members only" onboard events and ensure all Members receive their benefits.

    FUTURE CRUISE CONSULTANT
For your convenience, a Future Cruise Consultant is onboard all vessels to advise you on future cruise itineraries, fares and incentives. Our Future Cruise Consultant is available to book your next vacation, and provide you with up to $150 of shipboard credit per person on your next sailing with Princess.

    CRUISE LENGTHSTATEROOM TYPEONBOARD CREDIT*
    7-9 days Interior $25 Oceanview $50
    10-15 days Interior $75 Oceanview $100
    16+ days Interior $125 Oceanview $150

    *Onboard credit is per person.

Or simply make a future deposit toward any cruise to secure your onboard credit.

Night Deck Party - In the Caribbean it's a Tropical based party. Don't know if it's the same for Mexican Riviera cruises but Patty (cruisin' chick) may know this.
    what chrystal dome?
Chair Massages - I'm not on the computer right now that has the Lotus Spa Princelist as a download. I'll have to get back to you on that one.

Here is your explanation of Frubals

    Frubals

Have you ever heard the phrase 'instant karma'? Frubals (sometimes known as 'reputation') are a very close equivalent. Let's say, for example, you see a post that you really like. You can validate that person by clicking on the little scale icon that appears in that post. (It's toward the right-hand side, up top)

A pop-up message will come up, asking what you thought of the post and will have a blank space where you can write your thoughts on that post. The other member will have it noted in their "User CP" that someone thought that that post was worth frubals, and if you enclosed a note, that will appear next to the notation.

Click on User CP -- scroll down a bit and you will see how much reputation (how many frubals) you have and who gave them to you, along with their personal message. It will display the last 20 posters who have sent you frubals.

Scroll a tiny bit more and you will see how many you can give (reputation power). The number of frubals you can send each time is based on how much "reputation" you have acquired.

The message you get in your Private Messages box is the canned one that automatically goes out when someone sends frubals. The "real" message is on the User CP page

The more you get, the more you can give, but you have to have made 50 posts on the boards yourself before your frubals have any value to someone else.

Okay, I sent a reply to your email before checking to see what your actual questions are.

I haven't been on the Golden Princess at all so I don't know what the crystal dome is (haven't seen one on the Island, Sapphire or the Star).

I've only done one massage, that my hubby decided to surprise me with on the Sapphire. I couldn't even tell you what type it was as I'm spa challenged.

As for deck parties, I don't remember what was on our MR cruise as that was in 2003. And perhaps things had changed by then. On our Hawaiian cruise on the Island, there was an "Island Night," which involved the CD trying to get everyone do the hula up on deck. No food or anything offered.

I do somehow remember a late night party on one of my cruises (just can't remember which one) that involved lots of streamers being thrown. Princess does have a "champagne waterfall" at some point on every cruise. The maitre'd or another bigwig in the food dept. and his staff will prepare this around 11 pm. Afterwards, trays of champagne will be passed around.

Fortunately Heather knew the answer to the casino question. The last casino I was in was on the Paradise when it was a nonsmoking ship. Otherwise, they're too smokey for me.
