Question Where will the Sapphire dock?

My first cruise will be the Los Angeles to Vancouver route in May 2013 on the Sapphire. Does anyone know which pier to go to on embarkation day?

There are a few berths for cruiselines at the World Cruise Center at the Port of Los Angeles, but trust me that you don't need to know which one ahead of time. I've been on seven cruises that have left from there so I know that. Whatever taxi or shuttle service you use doesn't need to know anything more than the Port of LA (San Pedro) and which ship you're on. And if you're staying at the Doubletree or Crowne Plaza hotels in SP, the drivers of their shuttles there will drop you off at the right place.

Here's how it works there: if you're coming via freeway (if not staying in San Pedro), the vehicle will be on the Harbor freeway. The offramp (both coming from south and north) will be the Harbor Blvd. exit. Drivers will go across Harbor Blvd into the entrance of the World Cruise Center, drive past the guard booth, and you'll see a marquee with the list of that day's ships and which berth each one is at. But you will see the ships there!!!!

The vehicle will drive UP to the berths and stop at your berth. You'll get out with your luggage and TA DA, time to give your bags to the porter (with a tip) and then you go into the building there. There will be a table to fill out the health form and a line to stand in (a couple of cruises ago, we arrive at 12:15 and there was no line at all!).

If a driver says he needs a berth number, he has never taken anyone to the pier because he would known there's a sign. If he doesn't know where the pier is, well, he should learn. (make sure he doesn't take you to the Port of Long Beach)

Let me assure you,it's easy to get to the port. I can even drive it here from the Valley and have done so.

Patty has stated it very well.

It's way too early to worry about it now because things always change. So just because they're in one place today does not necessarily mean they'll be in the same place tomorrow.

As Patty said, if you're staying there the night before, all you have to do is tell the driver which ship you're going to and they will get you there. If you're driving, the ships are all in the same basic area and there are signs guiding you.
