    Obstructed view cabins

Hi, my name is Theo and I like to wish you all a happy 2012 with lots of cruising.
    Now to the point.
I like to introduce my website, it is dedicated to the "Obstructed view cabins" on all Princess ships.
Have a look and please let me know what you think.

    Hi Theo! Welcome to CLF.

Thanks for your website. Feel sure many will find it helpful when booking a cabin on a Princess ship with an obstructed view.

Phenomenal idea. I have always wondered how obstructed the view was from a ship and now I have an idea (at least for some of the Princess ships).

So how many of these pictures did you take yourself and what did you have to do to get them?

Those photos brought back memories. Had one of those cabins on a RCL ship once many years ago. Not much of a vew and sometimes disturbing when you look out and see crew members working on the lifeboat or its mounting. At least they try to warn you ahead of time they will be there but for some reason it comes as a surprise anyway.

aboard. Glad you made it over here! I'm glad you were able to use the photo of the cabin we had on the Golden, E421. For an "obstructed" cabin, it still had a nice view.

    Thanks for asking.
I took all the pictures for the Sapphire Princess myself during our last cruise. First I asked permission at the front desk and it was OK with them as long as the cabin stewards agreed. No problem there, just stay out of their way. I took all the pictures during disembarkation in LA while my DW was scratching off which one we did. Lucky enough they let us stay on board untill just after 11.00am. I also had some pictures from earlier cruises and the rest I found on the internet or they were send to me by other cruisers (like the poster just above this post).
Hope they are of use to all.

Oh boy. Are they of use. I have resisted getting an obstructed cabin on some of my cruises because I don't like surprises and nobody could tell me how much of the view I would lose.

For someone in my quandary, telling them that "here are the pictures of what it will be like" would have been a great help.

Are you primarily a Princess fan or did the idea just come to you when you were on the Princess ship?

I also find it interesting that they let you do that, usually they are do determined to get everyone off the ship!

I got the idea because we most of the time booked obstructed due to the good pricing. As for now I have a full plate just with the Princess ships. I also got some of the idea because of the website that they have for the Holland America ships.

As for them giving me time to do this is because I asked them way in advance and we did'nt have to be at the airport untill about 6.00pm so we had lots of time.

For what it is worth, I have this posted on other cruise sites as well and hope to reach a large group of people with it. (Some of them might even make it a "sticky")

We generally get insides. Only once did we ever request an OV (on a Carnival cruise). My hubby prefers to sleep in complete darkness so insides are best for him.

On the Golden, we had booked the cruise just weeks before the sailing date. There were no inside cabins left at that point but I was told there was an OV that was midship (which was our desired location because I'm not exactly good with motion).

We weren't concerned with whether or not we could see out of the window, but as it turned out it was completely obstructed.
