All I see on the itinerary is "Los Angeles." How do I know if I must go to San Pedro or Long Beach on embarkation day?

Your cruise documents will give you all the details as well as directions to your embarkation port.![]()
Princess ships generally depart from San Pedro.

Cruise Ships - San Pedro, CA - Los Angeles Harbor -
Usually (about 99 per cent of the time) all non-Carnival ships will use the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. It's called the World Cruise Center.
Just tell your driver you want to go to the Port of LA in San Pedro (don't even say Long beach or if he asks, say "no, we need to go to San Pedro"). If you're on the Harbor Freeway, the driver should exit via the Harbor Blvd. exit, be in the center lane, and drive across Harbor Blvd. into the World Cruise Center (there's even a sign there). He should not continue onto the Vincent Thomas Bridge...that goes on to the Long Beach side. But most likely you won't have an idiot -- probably most of their cruising fare are going to San Pedro. Of course, if you're staying in San Pedro (the Doubletree or the Crowne Plaza), you might get a free shuttle over to the port.
I haven't heard that any Princess ships have ever used LB (I think a Holland ship did once). The Carnival Spirit will be using SP for some upcoming sailings as there's only one berth at LB, and the Paradise gets it on Mondays and Fridays and the Splendor has it on Sundays.
I took out my old Thomas Brothers map book and the port of LA is on page 824 and the port of LB is on facing page 825, those ports are that close -- but the berth isn't marked as that (I have a 1997 book) was before it was used for cruiseships.
I just wouldn't worry about this.
