Question What is a Cabin Crawl?

Seems every Princess Roll Call (elsewhere ...DS) has someone wanting to set up a Cabin Crawl and have wondered exactly what it is.

The best I can figure out is that people meet someplace and go around and look at each others cabins. If so, it doesn't sound like something we'd enjoy doing ....

thats just what it is, Lulu.
Beverage and a snack might be included in the crawl too.

When I hear the word "cabin crawl" I am thinking someone crawling drunk around the cabin trying to find the bed

I've never done a cabin crawl while on a cruise, but I did do a few when we went to view ships back when Philly used to be a cruise port and we were onboard for lunch.

I guess if you were debating booking a different type of category cabin for your next cruise it would be nice to see what they look like in person vs. just photos.

Guess Princess is not the only cruise lines where folks on roll calls set up cabin crawls.

Noticed on the Oasis roll call where I'm booked someone is setting up a cabin crawl. If I had to walk all over that HUGE ship looking at cabins, I'd be crawling for sure by the end!

They used to do these a lot on QE2 which was great as no two cabins where the same. Not a much fun now with the prefab cabins.

LuLu, they normally try to find just one cabin in each category, if possible. We didn't have a cabin crawl on our Brilliance OTS cruise, but since they had a huge sale on Suite Gtys a few weeks before our sail date where they dropped to a lower price than balcony cabins, most of us with balconies jumped on the Suite Gtys. We had people on our roll call assigned Junior Suites, Grand Suites (us ), Owners Suites and even the Family Suites (which I think are called 2 BR Suites now) so some of us went to look at each other's cabins to see what the differences were.

While the Owners Suites are larger cabins than Grand Suites and have the floating flat screen TV stand (it moves 360 degrees so you can view it from any side of the room), their balcony is closer to a standard size balcony so if you want the larger balcony the Grand Suites are larger. I'm glad that I got to see the Owners Suite because I may have been disappointed with it's balcony size if I ever book that category and didn't know about the balcony being smaller that the Grands ahead of time.
