    Princess 2012 Prices

I knew when Princess put out their 2012 prices they seemed to be a bit high and sure enough, they've now decided to make adjustments. I've been busy making adjustments and notifying my clients that their prices have been coming down, so I know what I'll be doing this weekend.

So if you have reservations on Princess for 2012, you might want to check out your price and see if it's now cheaper than what you paid, then contact your agent to get a reduction.

Hopefully, this little tidbit of information will save you some money so you can enjoy your vacation more!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and please keep those serving our country in your hearts and prayers.

Most of the cruise lines seem to be trying to raise prices and find they need to back off. I don't blame them at some point the economy will support that but not yet.

Thats for the heads up Pete.

We never book that far in advance as some people do. It certainly isn't because there won't be room on the ship & unless you have to have a certain cabin, what's the point? If anything I see the prices drop as time goes on.

By booking early, you get all the advantages and none of the disadvantages. You can not only pick the cabin you want, but that price may very well be the best price they offer, especially during the peak travel times. You can also book airfare in advance and we all know that airfare never goes down. And once you've chosen the cruise, then you can begin to make your plans and saving up for your vacation. Plus, if the price does go down, as long as you haven't made final payment, you can get the discount.

If you book later, the price could have gone up, the best cabins are already taken, and airfare will most assuredly have gone up. So there's absolutely no advantage whatsoever of waiting and booking at a later date, unless of course you like paying a higher amount for your vacation.

We never travel at peak season & avoid holidays like the plague. We also don't need specific cabins but just something in the general vicinity of the aft elevators. If one particular cruise is getting filled & the price goes up, we just switch to another ship & itinerary since that's not a big concern either. Our transportation costs also remain fairly constant in Florida.
I suppose retirement does have some advantages once in a while.

Happy News for my TA yesterday!

When I booked a 14 day on Crown, no AA MiniSuites were available so I booked an AB MiniSuite. An AA became open so TA switched me over to that. PLUS, the price of the cruise had gone down over $400!

    That's awesome!!

We were on the Crown a couple of years ago and loved it!! The Crown Grill was wonderful. And don't forget to do the balcony champagne breakfast - always a very romantic way to start the day.

Question Best time to book a cruise

What I want to know is, "How far in advance is necessary?" I definitely will need some time to think about the trip itinerary, including my flight to the embarkation port, number of pre-cruise and post-cruise days, and return flight back home, after sales begin for the cruises I am interested in. I also have to decide which week I want to go if it is one that repeats each week all year. So there is no way I can imagine booking a cruise the same day sales start or even the same week. However, I am 100% in favor of booking ASAP after all decisions are made.

Does it make a difference which week I sail or are they all the same price for the same itinerary except for summer and holidays? I probably will go to New England/Canada first.
