Going to the dining room is OK but only when there isn't something that we want to do- which isn't usually the case. It takes over 45 minutes for breakfast & sometimes over an hour for lunch. I still have the mentality of hurry up, eat & get going & no matter what I have to do I can't change.

Think of it this way: Eating cruise ship food with cruise ship service - both much better than what you would experience at a land restaurant, according to my sister - is part of the cruise experience. On port days, you are right about eating a buffet breakfast (unless yoiu are a morning person like my mom), but what is wrong with eating lunch on sea days in the MDR? The swimming pools are still there later. So are MUTS and the Princess Theater. Only an appointment for the spa or a haircut would make me want to grab a quick lunch at sea.

Only the fact that it takes to long and the buffet is just as good for lunch. Dinner is another story.
