Thread: Deposit Questions

It's been a few years since we cruised on Princess ... I have a couple of questions about the deposits: (we're just in planning mode and I knew someone would have the answer)

1. On a regular booking for a 10 day cruise (Alaska), what amount is required for the deposit? Is it per person or per cabin?

2. Is the deposit the same on a group booking?

This is directly from Princess;

The deposit requirements is 20% of the cruise fare for all voyages, except the World Cruise and World Cruise segments longer than 44 days (which require a 30% total deposit). The deposit requirement for passengers booking a cruisetour is 20% of the cruisetour fare.

For passengers booking the Full World Cruise or segments longer than 44 days prior to the second deposit date shown below, the deposit will be split into two payments:

Full World Cruise and segments longer than 44 days	May 25, 2011 Dawn Princess World Cruise	January 13, 2012 Pacific Princess World Cruise
1st Deposit	10% initial deposit	10% initial deposit
2nd Deposit	20% due December 1, 2010	20% due June 1, 2011

Deposits are due according to the standard policies as follows:

Booking Made:	Deposit Due:
More than 4 months prior to sailing	3 days from time of booking
4 months - 31 days prior to sailing	24 hours from time of booking
Within 30 days of sailing	Full payment due at time of booking

Please note International booking policies may vary.

NOTE: If the deposit has been paid on a booking and the passenger decides to upgrade after deposit has been paid, the booking will update to reflect the new deposit amount and at that time the difference between the two deposits will be due.

Thank you ... I had looked but didn't see if on the FAQ on their site. I appreciate the info. It ends up approximately the same as we are paying for Carnival on our Hawaii cruise ($ amt about the same).

This will help with our future planning.

Unfortunately, this is not listed on their website - only available on the agent booking site. They changed their deposit amounts last year (if I remember right) and it's rather confusing instead of just using the usual amounts.
