How is the Pizza?
Is there only one type offered each day? Or are there multiple choices?
What types of toppings? Thin crust? Thick crust? Deep Dish?
Do you even eat Pizza while on a cruise?

Cruising is a wonderful way to enjoy retirement!!
Stopped counting after 110 cruises.

Rich, that's probably about as much pizza as we've eaten on a cruise ship too !

On Sea Princess (other Sun class as well if I remember correctly) they had a regular pizza parlor ... sit down ... and could order a variety of things other than pizza. We had lunch in there on Sea one day. Very nice! I had a salad and DH had an Italian sub and both were good. Others classes of Princess ships seem to only have the buffet sort of things and we've never been to any of them.

I will say that at one time RCCL had pizza served at the indoor pool on VOTS & I did have a few slices of the lobster pizza to just say I've tried it & it was pretty good but resorting to eating pepperoni or sausage pizza when there's decent hot food being prepared at the buffet & DR to me is out of the question.
The same holds for eating hot dogs on a cruise ship. I often wondered why do people crave to eat them when there's better food to be had? Strange to me but I suppose they look at me & wonder why I'm not eating what they like.
The same holds true for the International Cafe. While I'll occasionally get a pastry in the morning the sandwich's are nothing that great. I still haven't tried their egg sandwich. Maybe next Oct or Dec just to say I've done it.

I was just about to write the same thing when I saw your reply. I almost never eat pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, or anything like that on a cruise. I am looking for something unique, gourmet, or really special. I will take the chef's personal creation, thank you, and skip the pizza!

[quote=Texashorselady;1625830]I can't say that I don't eat the mashed potatoes - although I do eat much more veggies from the buffet than what they serve in the dining room. I tend to think the dining room just places them on the plates for decoration & not for consumption by normal people if you know what I mean. I sometimes forget to ask for a larger serving from the waiter and hate to send him back for more.
How come there are so many threads with this topic ? There's 4 on one page.
I always eat pizza on a cruise. Usually cheese or cheese & pepperoni. I'm not a big daytime eater so a slice of pizza for lunch is perfect.

I suppose it's all in how you view "pizza" as a food group. I consider it in the snack food catagory while others see it as the main course. We might eat at home once every 5 or 6 years but only as a fast or convenient item & not something we would consume as a steady diet.
Haven't had a slice of pizza on Princess, since I eat at work about once a week.
