    New Dinner Seating time

Princess just announced a 3rd Traditional Seating time for dinner.

Some some ships it is 5:30 and others 5:15. The new seating will be in "another dining room".

I got it in an email from Princess stating if I wanted to change to the early seating from Anytime Dining I could and to let my TA know. I personally like the Anytime Dining so I won't change.

What do y'all think for the "new" time?

I think it's great especially for the older folks who like to eat early.

I'm glad they're trying this. It seems that on most or all of the sailings, there is a waitlist for traditional. If some people like eating early or really want traditional dining, they can sign up for this.

I think it's nonsense. I personally can't imagine having to get ready for dinner for 6-6-30 BUT 5-15!! Does anyone eat dinner at this time? Assuming you have a shower & change, then go for a pre-dinner drink you'll be back in the cabin about 3pm!! Who would book a table at a restaurant for 5pm?
I suppose we are all different, but we enjoy the ship if we can get outside, the port if ashore, we still love to watch the ship sail away from port, & the time between about 5pm & dinner at 8-30 is usually gym time followed by a swim & relax. Change & shower in plenty of time for a drink before dinner.

I would like an in-between time like 7 or 7:30.

Way too early for me but there must be some that want this or they wouldn't be offering it as an option.

I got the e-mail also. Quite frankly, I could care less, a long as Anytime Dining exists, or maintain Traditional Late Seating at 8:00 or 8:15 PM. If the earlier seating is more convenient for the elderly and others, I'm very glad they are accommodating those passengers.

We have always gotten late traditional. But many seniors like to eat early (that's why there's the early bird dinner at many restaurants, but our family would often go too when I was growing up).

I'm sure many families would love this too. On our last couple of cruises, my daughter wanted to eat early so we would take her to the Horizon Court for her dinner, and then take her to the kids' program when they opened. Then an hour later, we went for our dinner.

I'm guessing Princess got many requests for an early, early traditional dining time.

I suppose they must have done, but the concept is so alien to me I just can't understand it! Maybe a lot of people don't get off the ship or are back on early in time to get ready, I'm in favour of formal nights but even I wouldn't want to dressed up from about 4pm, I think wearing a dinner jacket in daylight should be illegal! By the way I mentioned that older people liked to dine early once on another site & was told off for being "age-ist"..I think I've always been an "ist"
