I think Princesses erred by telling passengers they had no option but to attempt to get to a port where there were travel warnings to stay away from. Those that did attempt were met with either no flights available or inflated airline charges. When they could not get a flight, they were identified as a no show and Princess will not offer any compensation. If they did take out an insurance policy in most cases in very fine print it states that it does not cover an "Act of God".
In a way Princess is getting a windfall because passenger A cannot get there, will not get any money back and now the cabin has gone to someone staying on past the end of their cruise, paying at a discounted rate. I think some resolution should be made where the passenger does not come out the complete loser in all of this.
