New terms & conditions for flash promotions - Cruise Line Fans: Cruise Forum, Reviews and Chat From Real Cruisers

Effective Thursday June 11th, 2009 Princess Cruises and Cunard Line will be offering a revised Flash product with modified terms and conditions. The Flash product will continue to complement our existing pricing programs such as our group program, past passenger offers and regional promotions.
The following terms and conditions will apply to Flash products effective June 11, 2009:

1.
Flash promotions will be non-refundable: 100% cancellation fees apply.
- Full payment will be due by the end of the business day; non-payment will result in an automatic cancellation that evening.
2.
Flash promotions will be available for individual new bookings only. Existing bookings must cancel (cancellation fees apply) and re-book to qualify for this promotion.
3.
Offer is not combinable with groups for Tour Conductor credits or group amenities (including shipboard credits), or with cruisetours or other discounts.
4.
Air will no longer be available on Flash promotions.
5.
Princess Vacation Protection and Cunard Care will no longer be available on Flash promotions.
6.
All new Flash promotions will be “Guarantee Only.” Cabin assignments will no longer be available at the time of booking. We will attempt to accommodate triple or quad requests – please contact Princess or Cunard Reservations for assistance with triple or quad requests.
7.
Dining confirmation will be limited to space available at the time of booking.

Only 2 differences I see here is no insurance from Princess and no air. You can still get private insurance right up to sailing, and air will be high anyway with most planes full.

So, Sue, how do you find out about these Flash promotions. Hopefully the discount will be great enough to offset the restrictions.

They are sent to TA's and it is on the website. They are perfect for those who drive, and also if they cancel a cruise to book a flash that is for their cruise they have private air booked, if it is princess air they lose it with the cancellation, also,that doesn't care where their cabin is or where they dine. The prices are very low to fill the ship.

Neal, travel agents receive them from Princess via e-mail.

I would like to find a travel agent that has access to these promotions. I would not expect that these would be sent to all TAs but only to those that do a substantial business with Princess or HAL ( these lines do last minute discounts-- ? any other lines).

I believe that all lines will lower prices if the ship is not full after final payment. The sooner the sailing the higher the discount. Maybe the all inclusive lines do not, but the mass market lines will. You will see them on the large internet sites, but I don't like them, I want a TA working for me if a problem arises.
