Must be new Heather, we had them on the Crown in October Thanks for posting their reply
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Fire regulations actually requires that all ship decorations must be treated to be fire retardant. As a result, we do require all decorations come from us so that we don't have any flammable items posted in hallways. This is not a new regulation, but I suspect increased awareness of this rule has been emphasized to the crew.
Thanks so much, Heather, for going to the extra effort to get an answer!

My CLF sign was one of the very nice ones Zig did for us to use and I had it liminated so it wasn't just paper and tacky looking!

Honestly, I didn't see any signs of any kind on any cabin doors. ... Just a few balloons (from the ship) hanging from the address boxes ....

I did place the 30 CLF BOOKMARKS (reduced from Zig's) I'd made in library books!

Thanks for the answer, Heather. I guess we could always go ahead and keep putting up those signs, just in case the crew members don't want to bother enforcing this rule (considering they often don't enforce the chair hog rule...)

That's a great idea, Lulu. The Kinkos/Fed X place near us has a laminating machine that customers can use by themselves. I had to use it in September for the girl's PE "sportsfolio."

I started a thread in the Princess area on the dark side just to see if anyone there has experienced the same thing. Amazingly (or rather not), there were some nasty comments about door decorations. But no one reported being told to remove their signs by staff.

Sounds like the Princess attorneys came up with the no door decorations idea after the fire on the Star Princess.

Ya know, I'll still put something up. I thinik it's a Crew member that is just having a bad day/week that is taking out on the passenger. A way to handle that - Give them a really nice tip at the start of the week. LOL Make them happy before anything happens.

I'll still be putting up mine on our Ruby cruise in Nov and will hope for the best.

But that fire was back on March 23, 2006. If this was really an issue with decorations catching on fire, you think they would have implemented it right away and not 3 years later.

You would think so, but we attorneys are so out of touch with reality that the attorneys probably didn't realize that were any door decorations. Probably somebody became aware by chance and said it's safer to outlaw it.
