We're on a wait list for the Cabana on Princess Cays. If we don't get it...are there other places to sit???

Yes there are, and plenty of places with shade. Try to get to the island early though. If you have never been there, it's a great beach.

There are places to be out of the sun even if you don't get a cabana so don't let that be a big worry!

TAKE WATER SHOES! The beach is beautiful BUT having water shoes will allow you to enjoy it MUCH more!

OOOPPPPSSSS! I'm sorry...I mixed up my messages...you're not LuLu! ('course, you knew that!)...anyway, I DO appreciate the answer, you put my mind at ease. My husband and I are very fair skinned and a full day in the sun would be ugly!!

Been there twice, once with a cabanna and once without, no problem either way, plenty of shade around the area. I do think the water shoes is a great idea, lots of rocks around, especially in the water!

How is the water? We're going in January and I've heard that the water can be cold- I didn't know if anyone had been there or not and could tell me?

It is on the cool side....not like the warm Caribbean! I have been there in Dec and Mar and will be going again this coming Jan. Not my favorite because of the rocks in the water, (big areas of them, perhaps its coral?????) Good drinks and good food.
When in Jan are you going and on what ship?? We are going on the Sun leaving FLL 1/9

Hi all!
The Internet has been down on the Caribbean Princess for over a week!!! For one who is Totally Addicted it was devastating!!

We were at Princess Cays a week ago yesterday....weather was warm...water was warm (much warmer than the pool water..a little too warm) so this week we plan on staying aboard and swimming in the pool.

They have put up more shelters since we were in Princess Cays last year. No problem finding a seat for lunch even if you go left on the island instead of right (which use to be the only place that wasn't too crowded for lunch).

The beach is nice if you go down by the pier (the little shack that rents snorkel gear). I took off my water shoes and went in without them there. Other areas need to wear water shoes to get in the water.

So glad to be back online--see they've made the switch--have to say I liked the old site much better, but glad to see the people are still the same here!!

Off to frubal!!
