Thread: Pride of Aloha August 26,2007

Just made deposit for Pride of Aloha August 26,2007. Anyone know about the ship or this itinerary ?

Would like to talk to anyone that might be going too.

My wife and I were on the ship in March of this year. You'll board the ship in Honolulu and sail to the Big Island then Kauai and Maui. There's an over night stay at Kuai and Maui. At Maui you can chose to attend a luau. All tours can be booked on ship. The ship is very nice.

So the problems we heard about are taken care of. Slow or non-existant service. All gone? No one can mess up the scenery anyway. Good to hear you had a fine time.

I am happy to hear that, too. I leave on the 29th of Sept for 11 days on the POAL. I am excited, as this is my first cruise.
I was a little concerned after hearing lots of mixed information regarding service and the condition of the ship. I understand that the point of the trip is the islands, but who wants to have to sleep in a crappy room?
Hopefully we can find more details from someone who has been there recently.

Any info that can be shared would be greatly appreciated.

Our experience was very positive. We hadan inside room that was quite small. But we managed just fine. Our room attendent was very efficient. We hardly saw him. In fact I did not see him the whole time. My wife pointed him out to me.

To us the ship was on a par with most we have been on. All of them are going to show signs of use. Because they are used. If equipment is used day in and day out it is going to show. That said it was clean and well tended.

Meals were standard cruise food. In 7 cruises none stands out for excellent food. It is tasty and if you find something you don`t like get hold of your server and get it changed. I did this for the first time on the ship and they quickly got me another entree. They apologized and things were fine.

I will say we spent more time off the ship than on. More than any other time since we had no sea days on the 7 day cruise. All in all we enjoyed our trip and sent emails to NCL and our tour folks as wll telling them how welcome we felt.
