We were on the Mariner of the Seas next to the Disney terminal and the winds and rain at that time were horriffic! Couldn't even see our terminal building right across from our balcony. The captain came on the PA and told us about the Disney gangway---said it was a microburst that did it.
Good to know all is well now...

I forgot about the dreaded Microburst. Yep, that'll do it. Pilots fear that very, very much. It will force an aircraft into the ground if it's flying at very low altitude, for example when landing. Do you remember Delta Flight 191,which originated in Ft Lauderdale, FL and crashed while landing at DFW? That crash in 1985 was caused by a Microburst.
The wind in a microburst will snap mooring lines like it's nothing.![]()
