When we cruised out of Cape Canaveral, we rented a car in Orlando and drove over. We also arrived early and it was nice to be able to tour the area.

I hope you have a wonderful cruise!

    Oh, and welcome to CLF!

I'll recommend just what Garry stated they did, rent a car at Orlando Int'l Airport and drive over to Port Canaveral.

There is a discussion of this same thing over at; http://www.cruiselinefans.com/ask-cr...stion-lol.html

There are several car rental agencies located within 3 miles of Port Canaveral and since it's in the same 'zone' as Orlando, there are no extra one-way rental charges.

Renting a car is definitely the way to go, especially in your situation where you're going to be spending a couple of extra days in Port Canaveral.

By the way, I don't know if it's in your plans, but while you're in Port Canaveral, you really have to go see Kennedy Space Center - it really is an amazing place to visit but plan to spend most of the day there so you can see everything.

Steve and Laurie .... Agree with the others.

Do rent a car in Orlando and drive over because you'll need it to get around in Port Canaveral/Cocoa Beach for your two extra days there.

Welcome to CLF and have fun planning!

    Welcome to CLF!

Cape Canaveral sounds like a really great place from what I'm hearing. Just rent a car and tour the place for those days you're waiting to cruise on out.

    Have a great time!
