My cruise isn't until next April......the 16th.........I'm sure they don't have a schedule that far in advance but was wondering when to start looking. I already have air and am flying in on good friday......the 14th. Was thinking maybe start checking the schedule in November or December??

Oh, shoot! Looks like (as of now) you are out of luck.

However, dates are adjusted as often as not, so something could easily be pushed out of March and into April.

Here's what is published for that time frame as of now:

March 2006: Atlas 5

April 2006: No scheduled events or launches at this time

May 2006: Delta 4-H

Actually while I'm sure it is breathtaking and exciting............it may not be so bad to miss one..........I can only imagine the traffic.

We are planning to spend Saturday at the Cape taking tours though.

The traffic is not nearly as bad when there is an unmanned rocket going up as it is for a Shuttle launch.

They don't generate the national interest, or near the excitement locally of a Shuttle.

Nest year's shuttle schedule is still not firmed up. Thay want to get this year started, and more solid first. Now that there has to be a rescue shuttle ready within a month or two of each regular launch, planning is more tricky.

August 15 - Oct 31 Launch schedule for Kennedy Space Center. (At this time. there are no launches scheduled for November or December.)

August 2005
8/15 : Delta 4 Rocket Launch- GOES N Satellite
8/26 : Delta 2 Rocket Launch- GPS 2R M-1

September 2005
9/9 - 9/24/2005 : Space Shuttle Atlantis- STS 121

October 2005
10/28 : Delta 4-H Rocket Launch- DSP 23

How far out do they post the schedule? We sail April 16th and arrive April 14th??

They do show an Atlas as being scheduled sometime during the month of March.

Nothing is on the schedule at this time for the month of April 2006.

That doesn't mean all that much at this point, however. I will keep you posted as time gets closer. It would be so special if you got to see a launch during your visit here!
