    Calica/Playa Del Carmen

    A few questions...

    1) Does anyone know the extent of damage down there and if anything has been washed away?

    2) Best transportation from Calica to Xel-Ha?

    3) Recommendations on places to eat, shop, etc?

    4) Has anyone been or recommend Xel-Ha and if so, are the all inclusive tickets worth it?

We were going to do the excursion (carnival's) where you go to Tulum and Xel-Ha, but after thinking about it, we aren't sure if we want to walk around Tulum very much and would rather go hang out in a hammock on the beach for longer, but being left by the ship and transportation worries..well, we just aren't sure!

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

JF - Here is some info on another thread:

It was under Cruise Destinations in the portion on Mexico. You might find some more thread with info for you there. I just grabbed the first thread that might help.

    Good luck planning your cruise!

We bought the all-inclusive and I feel it is worth because you get a great meal at the buffet when you want it and all the drinks you can drink!! I think you can buy them online but I got mine through an entertainment card for Mexico, we were there int he Cancun area for two weeks and it is jusst like the one's you buy in the states minus the book!!

Anyone know if there is a nice beach near the main part of town? Wanting to swim, then do some shopping before heading back to the ship.
