On HAL they serve these fantastic Panama Buns as you cruise into the Canal.....not sure if other lines do also, but I understand it's a tradition. (Not sure whos tradition)

Do try one....they were delicious!!!

We took this cruise on NCL in 1999. Two weeks before the US handed control back to Panama. It was a truly educational and fascinating experience. I remember looking down into the locks as we were lowered and then looking up at the Panamax ship next to us that had not yet begun to drop and for the first time realizing how HUGE these ships really are...

And they're building cruise ships that won't fit in the Canal now...WOW!

Oh...my I got another ship for this...

I did one for our Mexican Riviera Amigos Cruise last Nov and it made a good place for everybody to get to know each other before the cruise. We started that cruise site over a year before also.
