Here I am stepping into this thread one year later, just checking out the weather conditions for our upcoming cruise. We leave on the Mercury 2 weeks from this Friday. We are bringing shorts as we know that it's going to be warm (hot)!! Rick

We have cruised the Canal at the end of January and at the end of April. For sure the weather was more comfortable in April. We had some afternoon rain, but it quickly cleared up. I would definitely go again in April.

They were doing a land tour of Panama Canal and Panama, My FIL's great grandfather helped build the canal locks! 
best time of the year
I can vouch for that! The only times we have been through the Canal or to Colon have been in January/February and it was always almost too hot/humid to breath!
