On our recent B2B cruise we had two port stops in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.
One time we took the "Amayo Hacienda Experience" excursion. (Posted here ... just scroll)
On the other we just walked into town and TOTALLY enjoyed that too!
The beach and beach restaurants/bars can easily be seen from both the ship and the tender pier.
Once out of the secured ship area, take a left. There's about a block or so of warehouse type building ... then it's all a walk along a paved sidewalk on the waterfront. It took us 20 minutes BUT we didn't walk very fast because we were in no hurry. No problem if you don't care to walk. A kabuki (bike taxi) is $6 for two.
The beach is actually very pretty to view. They did have beach chairs for rent ... but, probably best for strolling along or sunbathing. Up close the water wasn't very clear.
We found a great beach bar/restaurant beside one with live music. We'd wave at other passengers from the ship. Soon, we had about 8 tables filled with friends! Over looking a pretty beach with music from a live band and drinking beer with friends! It was a fantastic day!![]()
