Curundu, Panama

Is there anyone that knows anything about this city in Panama? If so, my questions are: How far is it from Colon? How far is it from Panama City?

Hi lovinlife.....

Colon and Curundu are fairly far apart. Colon is at the NE edge of Panama, along the coast...while Curundu is at the SE port section, within the confines of Panama City.

You can see it a little better here: curundu, panama - Google Maps

I hope this helps.

What sort of sights/activities do you have planned for these cities?

Smile Curundu, Panama

Thank you so much for responding! I am having a difficult time getting any responses. The reason I need this information is that we have family members who lived in Curundu, Panama when they were small children (back in the 1950's). We have a family trip planned and realized that a cruise would be a fun way to go! But I need to piece together whether we can get from the cruise ship to Curundu and then back to the ship. From my research it looks as if Curundu is closer to Panama City (do the cruise ships ever dock in Panama City?)than Colon. and no matter where the ship docks, how to get to Curundu (car, bus, taxi?). It's very confusing and maybe that's why I can't get any responses?? Thanks again for your response and if you have any other info to pass along, it would be appreciated!

No problem...it's what we're here for.

I am going to do some more research on your question...and I have put out the call form help on Facebook and Twitter. Maybe we will get some well-thought out responses from one of those readers.

Also, I just found this site, which seems to offer a transfer excursion, as well as round trip travel between these two cities for $20 US !!!

Take a look here : Panama Canal shore excursion, Indian Village, Portobelo, Panama City, Old Panama, Panama Colonial, Fishing, Rainforest, El Valle and let me know what you think about that option.

You do have an option to take the Enchantement of the seas round trip from Colon on a 7 days Caribbean cruise. The ship usually operates from Colon between December and April.

I am not sure if many ships docks in Panama City. I know a few stops in Gatun Lake (for a bbq at a yacht club)

Thank you both for your replies. I will definitely check out that website. I think my best bet is to find a cruise that docks in Panama City. If Colon is about 45/50 mins. from Curundu I guess it could be done from there. I am hoping when I contact the people at the travel excursion website they can hook us up with a reputable taxi service.
