In Barnes & Noble I saw a really neat book:
Panama Canal By Cruise Ship by Anne Vipond
I would have bought it but it was a bit frayed. Glad I didn't because there's a 3rd Edition (October 2008) which I plan to order on line from Barnes & Noble.

My copy of Panama Canal by Cruise Ship came in last week and I do highly recommend it!
My favorites are the Large Pull-Out Map of the Panama Canal and the Mile-By-Mile guide of the transit! Also, there's an interesting and easy to read history of the canal, etc. ... with lots of pictures.
What I didn't expected to find was not only information on the port of calls in Panama ... but also information about every possible port of call (Centeral America, etc.) on a Panama Canal cruise!
Whether you sail from Florida, California, or any other path (partical or full transit) ... your ports are covered in this book.![]()
