For photos of how the Panama Canal looks like from the ship, see my website about our cruise this year through the Panama Canal: http://www.coolgool.nl/cruise2005.

I must say the Panama Canal is impressive. The huge locks with large container ships in them, the nature, how narrow the canal is at some points, wonderful!

Thanks for sharing! Like the previous poster said, we too are going on a Panama Canal cruise in 2006. Trying to narrow down the ship and itinerary this weekend so we can book it.

How exciting that there are so many with crusies coming up -especially through the canal!

You will all be very happy. The cruises through there are always so educational as well as relaxing and fun.

Kathy,
I'm going to Panama in March and appreciate you recommending this book. I like to read and I'm sure it will make the experience that much more awesome for us.

It will certainly increase your appreciation of the Canal and its construction....engineering AND the politics. You will enjoy this cruise.

Here's something fun for those of you planning a cruise including a full or partial transie:

In our Cruise Videos forum, there is a timelapse photography of the view from the bow of the Radiance of the Seas on a full transit. Really neat!
